According to Age UK, disability equipment such as recliner chairs for care homes can be provided by a local health professional such as a nurse or GP. An example would be a riser recliner chair with spinal supports and a belt for those who have scoliosis or a neurological condition that is seriously affecting a person’s seating posture or positioning.

One of the disadvantages of purchasing equipment through the NHS, is the limited style, colour and fabric options. Recliners provided by the NHS may also not be made to fit you.
