One of the UK’s foremost Occupational Therapy consultancies, The OT Service provides independent occupational therapy for individuals, case managers, solicitors, insurers, retailers, manufacturers and businesses across the UK.
Kate Sheehan and her team has been providing expert consultancy advice to Repose and our clients for 5 years, helping us to shape every aspect of our chair development program and guide the future plans for our seating.
Kate explains “At the OT Service we strongly believe in the principles of Person, Environment Occupation (PEO) Model of Occupational Therapy[1] when designing any item for the home or healthcare environment, working with a clear client goal centred approach ensures designs are fit for purpose every time”.
Kate has applied her valuable experience and expertise into enhancing our product research, chair designs and delivery processes across all our rise recliner and healthcare seating ranges to ensure we continue to be one of the UK’s leading seating manufacturers.
Repose and the OT Service strongly promote partnership working and we hope that this part of our website will provide us with an opportunity to support you, not only by providing you with information about the Repose seating range to enable informed choices, but also with additional technical expertise and information in a format that you can use with your own clients.

Working in Partnership with you
An essential part of our work is to ensure we share Kate and her team’s expertise across our supplier network.
Working closely with the OT Service, Repose offers supplier training on seating assessment, for those involved in helping people choose a specialist chair that fits their individual need and for those providing a fully independent health and seating assessment for individuals. More one to one support can be offered to assist the development of supplier’s own independent assessment programmes or to support specialist evaluations and assessments where an individual may have complex clinical needs.
The content in this section of our website has been designed to share expert knowledge and key resource information to support your decision-making process.
There are fact sheets for many conditions as well as supporting case studies. There are practical tools such as the client assessment form and chair decision flow charts all of these supported by our chair key features evaluations, posture guides and clinical reasoning.
